Privi is a communication platform built for security and privacy. All your data is encrypted and no one besides the people you communicate with know who you are, not even the Privi servers. Your communications are untrackable and your contact list is unsearchable.
Why Privi?
It used to be that if you wanted to communicate with someone, you gave out your phone number or email address, they’d call you or sent you a message and you communicated freely. Companies wanted to contact you too, so you gave them your information and they sent you useful messages. But then some of those companies figured they could sell your contact information to other companies to market directly to you and make lots of money. Thus spam was born. These days, companies also use your phone and email to track you as they collect more data about you. Privi gives you back control.
How does Privi work?
Privi separates data from connections. When you give out your contact information to someone with your Privi app, you are giving out a temporary code. The recipient reads in that code with their app which uses it to tell the server which apps to relay messages to. The apps exchange encryption keys and you can now communicate securely and privately with the other person. Only the apps can decrypt the data, and only the server knows they are connected.
Should you wish to end communications with the other person, just remove them from your contact list. Neither the other user nor their app has any way to contact you again. Read our FAQ to find out more.
